A 28-second clip from the fifth episode of the first season of Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob SquarePants” remains, after 17 years, one of the series’ most viewed and most viral. So much so that Nick recently commissioned longstanding partner Nutmeg to create an official extended remix.

In the original episode, titled “Pizza Delivery” (which debuted on August 14, 1999), SpongeBob and Squidward set off from the Krusty Krab to deliver a pizza. Along the way, SpongeBob sings the “Krusty Krab Pizza” song, an instantly infectious earworm that has generated 2.6M views on an unofficial YouTube upload, spawned its own Wikipedia page, prompted a myriad memes and inspired hip hop, dubstep and EDM fan versions.

No wonder, then, that Nickelodeon decided the time was right for an official musical promo remix and entrusted the task to the Nutmeg team, who have a knack for producing viral hits.

Take a look at Nutmeg’s totally trippy, happily hallucinatory remix:

If the comments are any indication, “Krusty Krab Pizza” is about to go viral all over again: “Best. Remix. EVER!” Or, at least sell a few pizzas: “Give me pizza NOW!”
