Congratulations to… us! “The Small Time,” an original web series pilot that Nutmeg produced last fall, has been making the festival rounds thanks to creators, writers and executive producers Andrew Rein and Jack Canfora and has garnered numerous accolades.
The 11-minute short struck Gold at the DC Film Fest where it was named Best Web Series. It’s an Official Selection at the Los Angeles FirstGlance Film festival, the T.O. WebFest, the Irvine International Film Festival and New York’s Blackbird Film Festival, where it’s nominated for Best of Fest, Best Web Series and Best Sound Design (congrats to our own Andrew Guastella for that one). At press time, “The Small Time” is an Official Honoree in the Webby Awards for Best Comedy: Long Form or Series and an Official Nominee for Best Writing/Online film & Video. It’s also up for a Webby People’s Voice Award, which you can vote on through April 21 right here.
“The Small Time” reunites real-life husband and wife and “L.A. Law” stars Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry as the meddling parents of struggling literary agent Ben Bernstein, played by Andrew Rein. Hilarity ensues.
